Hi, my name is Kelly. I have had just over 13 years experience working with and teaching children aged 3 months to 7 years,  in various childcare/school settings and have loved every minute of it. At the moment, I am taking a break from teaching in schools and looking after my daughter Bee at home.

One of my favourite passions is being creative, even more so with my daughter. To see her little face and watch her grow and develop in front of my own eyes is a magical and priceless experience.

I believe that children's activities should be based on learning through play, with open ended resources, fun and creativity. Play is an essential aspect of a child's life. It provides an opportunity to develop in a situation where there is no right or wrong and as The Department for Children, Schools and Families (2008) says it "Underpins all development and learning for young children"

The aim of this blog is to provide stay at home parents/carers or early years professional with creative ideas. I will try to do this by taking you on our learning journey and share some of our crafts, games and activities. I try to make my activities cross curricular and make references to the areas of learning that accompany the them. The framework that I refer to is the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), that is statutory and followed in schools, Nurseries and Daycare settings in the United Kingdom. If you wish to learn more about this subject please see my areas of development page, or follow this link EYFS

Please make sure you leave a comment and share thoughts at the end of my posts. I find it helps in being reflective and it is also nice to know if you are enjoying the blog.
So, I hope my blog makes you learn, laugh and have fun!
